UNM offers online certificate programs, bachelor’s degrees and master’s degrees in key disciplines, such as business administration, nursing, elementary education and more, as well as one online doctorate degree in nursing. Many brick-and-mortar universities with long-standing reputations in their states are jumping on the online bandwagon. Now, distance learners can earn online degrees from well-known universities with physical campuses. Some programs combine online courses with evening or weekend on-campus classes, labs and events. This approach offers students the best of both worlds: a traditional college experience with the flexibility and convenience of distance learning. Students who need to work at their own pace or who may not be available for evening or weekend commitments due to family or career obligations may find traditional online programs are a better fit. Also, commuting to the nearest campus may not be practical. However, with so many distance learning programs available, students can choose the program that best suits their lifestyle, budget and goals.
