With a population of more than two million people in the metropolitan area, San Antonio is the second largest city in Texas and the seventh largest in the nation. Government, health care, financial services, and tourism are some of the most important sectors in the city’s economy. Major local employers include USAA, H-E-B, Valero Energy, Clear Channel Communications, and Methodist Healthcare System, to name a few. In addition, the U.S. Military and local school districts also employ a large number of San Antonio residents. Considering the job opportunities in the area, students who graduate with online degrees in business, education, engineering, finance, or a health care-related field are best suited to purse positions with the area’s top employers.
