University of Southern California

The University of Southern California (USC) was established in 1880 as a realization of Judge Robert Maclay Widney’s dream of establishing an area university. Located in Los Angeles, the university currently has more than 38,000 students; interestingly, it has more graduate and professional students than undergraduates. USC is a famous research university known throughout the U.S. and is ranked No. 23 in U.S. News & World Report’s national universities list. The University of California online, or USCNow, offers graduate level online courses and degrees; its online graduate programs in computer information technology, education, and engineering are all commended by U.S. News & World Report. University of California Los Angeles

Ranked No. 25 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report, the University of California (UC) was founded in 1869. Today, the UC system has 10 campuses in Berkeley, Santa Barbara, Davis, Santa Cruz, Irvine, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Merced, and Riverside; each of its campuses are accredited by the WASC. California State University’s (CSU) history goes back to 1857, when the Weekly Normal School was founded in San Francisco. Today, the California State University system consists of 23 campuses throughout the state of California, most of which are classified as Tier 1 universities, and has some 427,000 students. Accredited by the WASC, the system offers online degree programs through its extended and continuing education department at the bachelor’s and master’s levels.
