Pace University

Established in 1906, this institution of higher education began as a business school to prepare students for accounting careers. Today, Pace University consists of six schools and one college dedicated to arts and sciences, computer science and information systems, law, nursing, business, and education. The more than 14,000 students enrolled can choose from 100 undergraduate majors, 47 master's programs, and four doctoral programs. All of Pace's schools also offer online programs, degrees, and courses, including iPace, an online degree completion program for students who cannot attend a university full time. The U.S. News & World Report has recognized Pace University for its top online programs ranking it in the areas of faculty credentials and training, student engagement and assessment, and student services and technology. The City University of New York

Established as the Free Academy in 1847, this institution of higher education originally offered free classes to pupils in the common schools of the city. Today, it is a public university system comprised of 24 institutions and more than 540,000 students. It is the United States' largest urban university and the third-largest university system by enrollment. Students have their choice of 1,750 programs, including more than 230 undergraduate majors and 160 graduate majors. In addition, the School of Professional Studies offers an online baccalaureate for adult learners in the areas of disability studies, communication and culture, business, sociology, psychology, and health information management. It is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.

New York University

In 1831, New York University was founded to educate young men who were admitted based on merit and not wealth. Today, more than 40,000 students attend this university. This national university is among the largest private universities in the country and is one of the 60 member institutions of the Association of American Universities. It is regionally accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education. NYU is known for its medical school, which has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report for its research and primary care, and its business school, which has undergraduate and MBA programs that have been ranked by Business Week, according to the school's website. The School of Continuing and Professional Studies provides undergraduate and graduate programs and certificates online in areas such as human resource management, information technologies, real estate, social sciences, and management and systems.
