Perceptions about online degrees are rapidly changing. Some students and professionals may be concerned that an online degree is not as prestigious as a degree earned through a traditional, on-campus experience. But as more brick-and-mortar institutions embrace the virtual format, degrees from online universities carry significantly more weight in the marketplace. Distance learning tools and systems are more sophisticated and innovative than ever before and, before long, students will be able to earn nearly any degree online. Online degree programs can be quite rigorous with strict admission requirements, making online education a viable option for ambitious students and professionals.
